The Attitude of Gratitude

A Simple Practice to Cultivate Joy, Resilience, and Inner Peace

Get your happiness on!

But first — let me say how truly grateful I am for you.

Without your support, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love most: nurturing beauty, honoring nature, creating from the heart, and caring for others and the planet. Your presence in this journey means everything to me.

Thank you for being here, and for being part of the WILD GRACE community.

Now let’s dive into today’s ritual: gratitude.

✺ Why Practice Gratitude?

Gratitude isn’t just a feel-good emotion — it’s a proven tool for emotional and physical well-being. According to research in positive psychology, practicing gratitude regularly can:

Improve Physical Health

Grateful people report fewer aches and pains, feel more vibrant, and are more likely to move their bodies and take care of themselves.

Boost Psychological Health

Practicing gratitude is associated with lower levels of depression, increased happiness, and greater overall life satisfaction.

Enhance Empathy

Those who express gratitude are more compassionate, less reactive, and more likely to engage in kind, prosocial behavior.

Improve Sleep

Writing in a gratitude journal before bed can help you fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer.

Strengthen Self-Esteem

Gratitude helps shift comparison into appreciation — and naturally boosts your self-worth.

Build Resilience

Grateful people are more likely to recover from trauma, navigate hardship with grace, and bounce back from challenges.

✺ How to Practice Gratitude: The Gratitude Jar

One of my favorite ways to make gratitude a part of daily life is the Gratitude Jar — a beautifully simple ritual that invites joy, mindfulness, and appreciation into your everyday rhythm.

What You’ll Need

  • A clean jar or small box

  • Optional decorations (ribbon, paint, stickers, glitter)

  • Paper and a pen or pencil

The Practice

  1. Decorate your jar however you like — make it beautiful, personal, and inspiring.

  2. Every day, write down three things you’re grateful for — big or small.

  3. Fold the notes and place them in your jar.

  4. Keep adding to your jar, day after day.

Over time, your jar will become a visual reminder of all the beauty, support, and love that surrounds you. And when you're feeling low, take a few notes out — let your own words lift your spirit.
